In the evening of 2 April evening a collision of a Rola train with elements of a road bridge under construction between Müllheim and Schliengen caused the derailment of this train. Tracks and catenary are seriously damaged and section is closed. Police investigations and recovery are ongoing.

The year 2019 was a mixed year for the North Sea Mediterranean Corridor in terms of both volume and punctuality. The number of freight trains fell more sharply on the French and Belgian networks, but remained stable in the Netherlands and Switzerland.
