Rail freight corridor 2 (RFC 2) is a freight oriented route connecting the Netherlands, Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, France and Switzerland. The corridor starts from the two main European ports, Rotterdam and Antwerp and passes through major industrial areas. It reaches Basel and Lyon as gateways to Southern Europe: Italy via Switzerland and Spain via the South of France.
