Rail Freight Corridor North Sea - Mediterranean thanks the leaving Managing Director Guillaume Confais-Morieux and welcomes Yann Le Floc’h as new Managing Director
After almost 5 years of managing the North Sea Mediterranean Rail Freight Corridor, Guillaume decided it is time to move forward and sail off to a new professional adventure. He had been offered an opportunity within the SNCF Voyages team, allowing him to further extend his knowledge of the SNCF group. RFC North Sea – Med wants to thank Guillaume for his leadership as Managing Director for almost the past 5 years.
Yann Le Floc'h, 49, has been appointed by the Corridor Management Board as his successor as of 1st of October 2019.
After completing a PhD in geography at the University of Tours (France), he joined RFF, the French Rail Infrastructure Manager, in 2000, to support the public participation process organised for the new Rhine-Rhône high-speed line project. Afterwards he was appointed to form a group within RFF’s secretary general’s office to support project teams with the public participation process. He was also subsequently chief of infrastructure projects for RFF during 4 years in several French regional territories.
Mr Le Floc'h joined the train paths department in 2007 as head of the timetable design unit. This unit was responsible to plan planning the mid-term and long-term allocation of capacity on the French rail network. He organised this unit in order to transform this policy into a major project aiming at a fixed-interval timetable for the entire French network starting with the 2012 timetable.
After launching the 2017 timetable redesign project related to the commissioning of two high-speed lines on the Atlantic area, Mr Le Floc'h embraced operation management. Progressing through different positions in order to perform an internal SNCF Réseau Executive Program, he then moved to a Chief Operating Officer position, taking in charge the Paris western routes operations and traffic control department.
By the end of 2018, Mr Le Floc'h was invited to join the task force in charge of the SNCF reorganisation, as required by the 2018 reform voted by the French parliament. He worked more specifically on the future establishment of the SNCF Réseau subsidiary in charge of the 3000 stations.
Today, he is pleased to be able to provide his large experience and expertise on the railway system to serve the Rail Freight Corridor North Sea – Med customers and partners such as railway undertakings, freight forwarders, shippers or terminals.
